Welcome
Johnny B. Green, MD, FACS, FASCRS is pleased to welcome you to Kitsap ColoRectal Surgery, Inc., P.S. CAPT Green retired from the Navy in October 1999. His solo, private practice in Bremerton offers the West Sound and Kitsap Peninsula its first fellowship trained specialist in the area of colon and rectal surgery. Dr Green's specialized colon and rectal training brings to the area an expertise in the diagnosis, medical management and surgical treatment of: - Colorectal and anal tumors, including hereditary tumor syndromes such as Familial Polyposis, and hereditary non-polyposis colon cancers. (New surgery techniques for rectal cancers may preserve the anal sphincters, often avoiding the need for a colostomy.)
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), including ileo-anal pouch procedures, also called J- or S- pouches.
- Diverticular disease, especially when complicated by fistulas to other organs such as the bladder, uterus or vagina.
- Endoscopy of the colon and rectum: Flexible and rigid evaluations of the anus, rectum, and colon (with biopsy or polyp removal if necessary).
- Intestinal and anorectal functional disorders such as anal incontinence (the accidental passage of stool or gas), anal or rectal pain, chronic diarrhea and rectal prolapse (falling out).
- Common anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses, and fistulas.
Dr. Green is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery). He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. His professional memberships include: American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, Washington State Medical Association, and Crohn's, Colitis Foundation of America.
